Museum of Illusions

Philadelphia’s new Museum of Illusions (MOI ) was the most fun we’ve had at a museum in years. All the exhibits are interactive and immersive. Their signage also explains the why and how of our brains being fooled. Come with a group for the best experience. For some illusion effects, you need at least 3 people (2 to pose, and 1 to take the photo). MOI has staff stationed around the exhibits to share tips on where to look/stand for maximum effect. They will also take your photos.
We spent about 90 minutes on our first visit. We hope they’ll expand the space and rotate in some changing exhibits to encourage repeat visits/memberships. They have a senior rate discount and offer special events. MOI’s location (near Independence Mall) makes it convenient for visitors and a destination to bring out of town guests: there were no bored kids here!
