Roxanne is a unique supper club in Philadelphia created by celebrated pastry chef Alexandra Holt. This cozy space, named for Alex’s mom, opened in 2022 near the Italian Market. Within months, it had made Esquire’s list of best new American restaurants. The restaurant is bathed in fun pastels and has a playful, relaxed vibe.
This intimate space seats 26 guests max per evening ($75 pre fixe per person). The price includes the dinner fee and a service fee. It is BYOB or you can purchase carbonated water.
My husband and I celebrated a special night out together. We devoured a procession of scrumptious and innovative small plates all created by Alex as we watched. Each menu is different, but you can expect every dish to offer a unique, delicious pairing of ingredients. Alex promises that each menu includes at least 2 decadent desserts.
Our eight-plate menu (served to all) spanned from chocolate pasta, raw beef and monkfish to white strawberries and a mandarin dessert. The service was attentive and impressively fast, given that we received fresh cutlery and plates for each dish.
There’s an Instagram page but no website. Reservations are made online and you prepay at exploretock. Sign up for the waitlist if you can be flexible. They’re only open 2 weekday evenings as of now. We wish the Roxanne supper club continued success!
